Tomato throwing festival held at the Plaza Mayor Square and the streets of Bunol village, near Valencia. About 40,000 people, including tourists from Japan and Australia, have joined in this 66th special festival of Spain. The festival takes place on the last Wednesday of August every year. The origin of the Tomatina is still a controversial issue but most people agree that it began in 1940, the early dictatorship of General Francisco Franco.
